What SplitBoard is
SplitBoard is a shared board that does the math for you. Create a board, add the people who are in, then log each expense with who paid and who's sharing it. SplitBoard keeps a running balance for everyone and shows who owes whom, live, from any device with a browser.
There are no accounts, no apps to download, and no premium tier hiding the useful parts. The link is the key — share it and everyone is in. That's the whole model: the fewer barriers between you and a settled-up group, the better.
Why we built it
Every group expense story ends the same way: someone pays, everyone owes, and then the mental math begins. A notes app full of "I paid 42 for dinner" lines, a group chat where nobody quite agrees on the total, or a spreadsheet that feels like a second job. We wanted a bill split calculator that lives right where the problem happens — at the table, on the couch, on the train home.
So we built one. SplitBoard keeps no payment details, never touches your money, and never locks your data behind an account. Anyone with the link can open the board, add what they paid, and see the balances update instantly. When it's time to settle up, the calculator works out the fewest transfers so nobody has to do awkward math — or awkward conversation.
How we think about privacy
Your board is yours. Only people with the link can see or change it, and the details you add — names, amounts, who paid — are visible only to that group. We don't sell data, we don't run ads, and we don't hand your information to third parties. See our privacy policy for the full picture.
